The Characters

Nancy Drew

Nancy Drew was like Mary Poppins, "practically perfect in every way." She was good at everything she tried and was almost always right. Nancy had reddish-blonde hair, blue eyes and was around 5-7 I like James P. Jones description of her best: "Nancy Drew was clever, capable, popular, athletic, unusually pretty, friendly, attractive, skillful, kind, modest, good, brave, poised, keen-minded, plucky, self-reliant, unforgettable, distinctive, forceful, wise, splendid, observant, healthy, responsible, remarkable, and amazingly... normal."

George Fayne

George is tall with dark hair and is the ultimate tomboy. She is very athletic and enjoys doing things outdoors. George has a quick wit which she often uses on her cousin, Bess. She is always there to lend a helping hand and always eager to help with any new mystery.

Bess Marvin

Bess is usually described as blonde, pretty and plump. Bess is the more feminine of the two cousins. Her main interests are boys, clothes, shopping and the like. Bess is kind and willing to help. Though she is often more timid about the mysteries than George.

Even though Bess and George have their differences, they are very close and good friends.

Carson Drew

Carson is Nancy's father. He is tall, handsome and a distinguished lawyer. Carson was widowed when Nancy was three, and has yet to remarry. He is very proud and supportive of his daughter, and often asks her help on his own cases. At times he worries about Nancy, as any good father would, but he is always there for advice and encouragement.

Ned Nickerson

Ned is Nancy's longtime boyfriend. If my memory serves me correctly, they have been dating since "The Clue in the Diary" book number 7. Ned is tall with dark hair and eyes. He attends Emerson College, where he plays football. Ned accepts Nancy's independent nature, and has helped on many a mystery. But he also encourages Nancy to take brakes from her sluething for fun and relaxation, which she needs.

More to come!
